INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT
McChord Pipeline Co. has implemented an Integrity Management Program to ensure safe pipeline operation in accordance with Federal Regulations. Two internal inspection tools (also known as smart pigs) were used to inspect the pipeline in 2004. Based on the results of this first inspection cycle, the pipeline can operate safely until the next internal inspection in 5 years. The pipeline will be internally inspected again in 2009 as part of the ongoing Integrity Management process.
The pipeline was pressure tested in 1996 to verify its strength. Due to the low stresses on the pipeline, another pressure test is not required for decades.
